LOVED THE PENTHOUSE! PERFECT LOCATION

Loved the Penthouse! We stayed here for a couple nights and it was perfect! Close to all the restaurants on Rose St., easy walking distance to everything really. We had our own kitchenette and bathroom with shower (large bathroom). You even get a mudroom area when you walk in. Everything was clean. It was very quiet, and we hardly saw anyone else in our coming and going. You're also able to leave your luggage in some larger "closets" if you arrive too early or need to leave later.

Clean and quiet. Centrally located, a short walk to Edinburgh palace, Waverly train station, Edinburgh bus station, and pubs and restaurants on Rose St. Highly recommend for budget conscious

Suitable if you are looking for something cheap and reasonable kitchen access. Location noisy at night and early in the morning.

Very close to the thriving heart of the city. Ideal for either tram or bus from airport or train/bus station. Get off at Frederick Street and turn right into Rose St and it the first alley on left. Codes on both front door then different on for room and personal locker (big enough to take medium suitcase). If you are early you can access lockers so you go straight into city and check in later. Info email good. All the spaces are very clean. Bedding all clean and fresh. Nice to have a changing area in shower area. Might be worth putting opaque or reflective stuff next to sink so no one can see in (that’s next to the female only area). Staff very friendly. No breakfast option but there are plenty of places offering breakfast nearby. Good storage and cooking facilities if you bring your own stuff. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again!

When arrived in my room late in the evening after a long and happy day in edinburgh visiting a relative, I was confronted with an unmade, apparently already slept in pod. This was most distressing and annoying. With no reception to complain about this, I decided to sleep in the adjacent, unslept in pod. However, then in the morning I awoke to find my locker had been locked out during the night and I could not access my clothes and belongings! All of this hassle and stress meant I didn't get a win of sleep. On the plus side, when I called the helpline via Whatsapp, the problems with my locker were fixed quite quickly by the support worker, who was also very patient, polite and kind. So it's hard to give an unbiased report on my stay due to those issues - might be ok for someone else. In conclusion, this hostel will not be my first choice for somewhere to stay when I'm next in Edinburgh.
